The announcement by Ireland, Spain and Norway of the recognition of a Palestinian state is perceived as a major blow in Israel. Nomi Bar-Yaacov, an associate fellow of the International Security Programme at Chatham House and international negotiator, tells FRANCE24's Mark Owen that the key missing element from the speeches in recognition of the Palestinian state is to explain to Israel how the existence of a Palestinian state makes Israel more secure.
