Around 200 World War II veterans will be present for commemorations marking the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings in Normandy on Thursday in what is set to be a highly emotional day, with this likely to be the last major anniversary where significant numbers of those who actually took part in the ladings able to attend, says General Dominique Trinquand, former head of the French military mission to NATO and the UN.
