French Republicans party leader ousted after proposing far-right alliance
Republicans party chief Eric Ciotti, who has called for an electoral alliance between his French party's candidates and Marine Le Pen's far-right National Rally (RN), was unanimously kicked out of his party on Wednesday, party official Annie Genevard said. The party will now be helmed by Genevard and François-Xavier Bellamy, who was head of the party’s list for the European elections, FRANCE 24’s Jean-Emile Jammine said.
