Vice President Kamala Harris’ candidacy for the democratic nomination following Biden’s withdrawal appears to be a done deal, University College Dublin Professor of US and International Politics Scott Lucas told FRANCE 24. “As soon as Biden stepped aside, he endorsed her and so did other Democrats. Significantly, not just democrats who are her supporters but also those who have been her critics, such as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez from the progressive wing of the party,” Lucas said, adding that other potential challengers including Governor of Michigan Gretchen Whitmer also stood aside.
