One member of an Iran-backed paramilitary group was killed and eight were wounded in an explosion early Saturday at a military base south of Baghdad, Iraqi officials said. The US military said its forces were not behind the strike. On Friday, strikes blamed on Israel targeted a military base near the city of Isfahan in central Iran. Iranian officials played down the incident and said the blasts caused no major damage. Israel had previously warned it would hit back after Iran's drone and missile attack on Israel last weekend.
