Israeli forces struck weapons depots near Sidon in southern Lebanon in response to a drone launched into Israel by the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah, Israeli's chief military spokesperson said on Monday. Hezbollah and Israel have been exchanging near-daily fire across the border since the Israel-Hamas war began October 7, and while most of the exchanges in recent months have been limited to areas near the Israeli-Lebanese border, the area targeted is some 30km from the nearest Israeli border.
