Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh said on Monday that he was resigning to allow for the formation of a broad consensus among Palestinians about political arrangements following Israel's war against the Palestinian militant group Hamas in Gaza. The announcement came as Israeli’s military "presented the War Cabinet with a plan for evacuating the population from areas of fighting in the Gaza Strip", said a statement released in Hebrew from Netanyahu's office.
