French far-right party National Rally (RN) suffered an unexpected defeat in Sunday's legislative elections as it came in third, behind a left-wing alliance and President Macron's centrist group. RN leaders and supporters said that they have been “victims of the political system, of the political elite”, FRANCE 24’s Catherine Norris Trent said, reporting from party headquarters.
