An independent United Nations investigation on Wednesday concluded that Israel has committed crimes against humanity during its war against Hamas in the Gaza Strip, including the crime of “extermination”. Israel reacted with outrage to the finding, accusing the UN Commission of Inquiry of "systematic anti-Israeli discrimination". The report also found Hamas and other Palestinian armed groups guilty of committing war crimes, including through deliberate killings, abductions and sexual- and gender-based violence.
