Three people have been killed in New Caledonia as violent protests and looting rock the French Pacific territory after Paris adopted a constitutional reform on voting that angered pro-independence forces. The three deceased were young indigenous Kanak, a spokesman for New Caledonia's president Louis Mapou told Reuters, adding that the information was provided by police.
